Meitu beauty app MakeupPlus has collaborated with Hawaii-based beauty influencer Bretman Rock. Bretman is known for his vlogs and make-up tutorials on YouTube and Instagram and has more than 10 million followers on social media. The MakeupPlus app allows fans to virtually try on three of his most requested looks through their smartphones. It uses proprietary facial recognition to map each user’s unique facial features. Users can give themselves a full virtual makeover including lipstick, foundation, eyelashes, or even different hair or eye colours, faux freckles and glitter. The app also includes expertly-curated make-up tutorials along with make-up looks by artists such as Lisa Eldridge, NikkieTutorials and now, Bretman Rock. The three main looks include Bretman’s ‘Mary Jane’ a full-face of make-up with shimmery purple lips adorned with reflective green and purple eyes and eyebrows. ‘Boujee’ applies extra highlights on the cheekbones, gold glitter on the lower lash liner and oxblood red matte lips. Lastly, ‘Whatevah’, which gives users natural looking faux freckles, fully lashed-out eyes and a creamy, classic red lipstick.
