L’OCCITANE en Provence has announced that from close of business on Saturday 21st March until Friday 10th April they will be voluntarily closing their entire retail network in the UK & Ireland due to the outbreak of COVID-19. During this period, all retail associates salaries will be paid in full. Due to the rapidly evolving nature of COVID-19, the health and safety of L’OCCITANE employees and customers remains L’OCCITANE’s number one priority. In addition to the strict hygiene protocols that are already in place in L’OCCITANE Boutiques and Warehouses nationwide, they have recently taken numerous extra measures to increase the safety and hygiene for both customers and employees in stores. Due to the rise of cases in the UK, today it has been decided that they must take one step further in the fight against the virus and close down the entire retail network. L’OCCITANE will keep reviewing the situation on a daily basis, closely following advice from the UK Government, and will communicate in due course on whether the re-opening of their stores will be possible on the 10th of April. All L’OCCITANE products continue to be available to purchase online at uk.loccitane.com. L’OCCITANE are committed to upkeeping delivery standards and turnaround times, however, due to current circumstances and ensuring the health and welfare of the warehouse team, some deliveries may take a little longer than usual. To ensure the safety of the warehouse staff, they have been operating at a reduced capacity and in shifts whilst maintaining orders. To help in this unfortunate time of crisis, L’OCCITANE has supported UK NHS & Ireland HSE Staff by donating hand creams to soothe their sore hands from frequent handwashing. L’OCCITANE is sending hand creams directly to NHS / HSE hospitals as well as inviting NHS / HSE staff to collect a 30ml hand cream from L’OCCITANE Boutiques, whilst stores remained open. The other brands of L’OCCITANE Group (DUOLAB and ELEMIS) have closed their retail network accordingly.
