Harrods unveils 3D illusion to celebrate launch of upcoming sale
Harrods has offered a special preview into its Summer Sale preparations with the unveiling of a giant 3D artwork on its roof today. Working with renowned street artist Joe Hill, the optical-illusionist has made it appear as if there is a colossal hole in the Harrods helipad, and through it the Knightsbridge store’s luxury Sale merchandise has been brought to life with realistic illustration on canvas. Measuring over 35 foot long and 20 foot wide, the work took Joe and his team of five artists four days to paint, and it was the first known time a 3D artwork was painted live on a roof. While the creation is not available for public access, the creation can be seen via the store’s social media and digital channels, including Facebook and harrods.com. Harrods Summer Sale will officially open at 9:00 on June 27.
