Fred Perry top open standalone store in London
LabTech, owner of Camden Market, has today unveiled the opening of its latest British clothing retailer, Fred Perry, located at 255 Camden High Street. In association with Camden’s infamous musical legacy, the brand marked the official opening of its first standalone shop in Camden last night – Thursday 10 October – with DJ sets from Massive Attack’s Daddy G and British newcomer, Taylor Skye. Spanning two floors, Fred Perry’s latest unit has been designed by retail studio company, Rizlly and features a contemporary space with concrete floors centered around spotlights, mimicking a stage-like presence on the shop floor. The ground level showcases the brand’s latest collections and collaborations for men and women, including the original M12 and G12 Fred Perry Shirts, made in England. Curated by Mat Bancroft, the basement is a dedicated exhibition space inspired by the local area’s artists and icons, bringing together rare original artefacts and images that trace elements of Camden’s musical history from 1966 to today.
