FashionBeans reveals Grooming Awards winners
Leading men’s style site FashionBeans.com has today announced the winners of its debut Grooming Awards. Celebrating the best of the men’s personal care market, which is estimated to be worth more than £848m (source: Kantar Worldpanel), the site – which receives 2.4m unique visitors a month – handed out 20 accolades in the online ceremony. Subscription shaving company Harry’s was awarded Brand Of The Year, having launched into the UK in June, taking a cut of the multi-million-pound hair removal market and securing major listings with the likes of Mr Porter. Elsewhere, Clinique For Men took home Best Cleansing Product for its Anti-Fatigue Exfoliating Powder, along with Nivea which won Best Shaving Product for its Anti-Irritation Stick, and David Beckham’s House 99 brand picked up Best Secret Weapon with its Brighter Eye Balm. L’Oréal, Head & Shoulders and Kiehl’s also received nods from FashionBeans editors, who combined have several decades of experience in the men’s lifestyle sector. “What’s clear from this year’s stellar batch of winners is that there’s a growing demand for tailored products that offer targeted solutions,” says FashionBeans deputy editor Luke Todd. “Men already make up more than a quarter of total toiletry sales, and with increasing numbers reading up on grooming content, brands across the board are having to step up their game to keep pace with rapidly evolving consumer demands. “The point of these awards was to put genuinely good products in front of everyday readers. In the future, we plan to maintain the same reader-first mentality while growing the awards through strategic partnerships with key retailers and shopping centres.” Having noticed a growing trend for sustainability, FashionBeans created an Eco Pioneer Award which went to Bulldog Skincare for its use of sugar cane packaging and other initiatives like the brand’s bamboo razor. Ren also recognised for its Atlantic Kelp And Magnesium Body Wash, which comes in a 100% recycled bottle, with 20% reclaimed ocean plastic. In addition to celebrating new product launches from the past 12 months, FashionBeans also handed out a Fragrance Icon Award which went to Hermès for 2006’s Terre d’Hermès, and highlighted the flagship store of Swedish perfume house Byredo as the Best Men’s Grooming Destination.
