October sees the launch of the Murano candle from Acqua di Parma for Christmas. Each piece in the collection is hand-made using the traditional caneworking technique. Long, thin coloured rods, obtained by the craftsmen by stretching the hot glass mass, are combined with clear glass and skilfully shaped. The glass is then created by blowing, which calls for utmost skill, gentleness, and precision. This time-consuming and complicated process produces only a limited number of glasses every day. The Vetro Artistico di Murano brand certifies authenticity and craft excellence. The superior quality wax is also hand-crafted. Repeated pouring into the glass in two stages ensures a homogenous and compact texture. Acqua di Parma selects the most precious ingredients for the fragrance. Each olfactory composition in the collection is inspired by Venetian atmospheres. Alongside the fragrances Linden, Mahogany, and Tonka, an exquisite new evocation with the fragrance Benzoin now forms part of the Murano Collection. The glass that contains the candle comes in an elegant combination of black and green shades. The fragrance opens with the freshness of jasmine blended with warm and intense notes of vetiver, patchouli, and sandalwood at the heart; and musky base notes of vanilla and Peru balm. The new Acqua di Parma Murano candle for Christmas will be available in Harrods from October 1 priced at £95.
