Vogue Czech Republic and Slovakia appoints Editor-in-Chief
Vogue Czech Republic and Slovakia has today announced Andrea Běhounková is appointed the role Editor-in-Chief. The Czech and Slovak edition of Vogue will debut both digitally and in print in August 2018, published in partnership with V24 Media. Andrea Běhounková is widely recognised in the Czech publishing world, having spent the past eight years editing Elle Czech Republic. Běhounková’s career began editing a national newspaper, Český deník at 21 years old. She then spent seven years working across various forms of media including television and reporting until moving into women’s fashion and lifestyle publishing. During this time, Běhounková held the post of Editor-at-Large of Style and was then pivotal in successfully relaunching Žena a život, twice honoured as ‘Best Magazine’ by The Publishers Union. Běhounková was appointed Editor-in-Chief of Elle Czech Republic in 2010 where she also oversaw the launch of Elle Man and relaunch of Elle Decoration. Běhounková will spearhead the launch of the newest Vogue platform, with a unique understanding of the Czech and Slovak fashion markets. Under Běhounková’s direction, Vogue Czech Republic and Slovakia will build on the heritage of the fashion bible, whilst adopting an up-to-the minute, digital approach to news. Joining Vogue Czech Republic and Slovakia, Běhounková will work to build a world-class fashion team comprised of experienced journalists and authors as well as seeking out emerging talent. Over the coming months, Vogue Czech Republic and Slovakia will be announcing further new appointments.
