George Osborne has today announced that Julian Glover will be heading up the Evening Standard’s expanded comment section and will be writing for the newspaper as of 29 January. Julian Glover was previously lead writer and columnist at the Guardian for 10 years before he worked in Government as speechwriter to David Cameron and as a special adviser on Transport. Melanie McDonagh moves from her current position as Comment Editor to Senior Writer. She will be writing across features, arts and books.
