JW Anderson returns to Topshop for second collaboration
Following the success of his first collaboration in September, this February will see JW Anderson return with a second helping of his iconic signature styles, reworked for the Topshop girl for SS13. The collection is an evolution of the first, with key pieces such as the kilt and motif jumpers returning, but reworked in unexpected futuristic fabrics, with a more modern, paired back approach. The kilt reappears in a heavy indigo denim, the classic beige trench is updated in black and beige patent and loafers are given three inch platforms. Neoprene and vinyl in a pale lilac and beige is used on pleated midi skirts and simple Harrington jackets. A simple gingham or striped shirt, polo tee and duffle bag are all branded with the JW logo and add to the wardrobe staples of the previous collection.
British-born designer Jonathan William Anderson studied menswear at the London College of Fashion where he graduated in 2005. His eponymous label was launched in 2008, initially as a men’s collection, branching into a capsule collection for women for AW11 at the bequest of fans and stockists of previous collections. Following his first successful season, and with the support of NEWGEN sponsorship, Anderson’s women’s collection has been shown on schedule since February 2011 and is currently stocked in Moda Operandi, Jeffrey, Selfridges, Dover Street Market, Matches, Le Bon Marche and Opening Ceremony.
Prices range from £20 to £300 and is available from 15th February in Topshop Oxford Circus, Arndale, Selfridges, Brompton Road, New York, LA, Chicago and Topshop.com.
