V V Brown to host for SBTV Style Britain during London Fashion Week and showcase vintage label at London Fashion Weekend
Vanessa “V V” Brown set to take London Fashion Week AW13 by storm. V V Brown will be performing live at PPQ’s after show party on 15th February. She will also be reporting from London Fashion Week for SBTV’s Style Britain. Recently announced as the new presenter for the fashion and style arm of SBTV, (the UK’s leading online youth broadcaster), V V will be covering LFW for SBTV Style Britain and then presenting a monthly show highlighting the profiles of emerging talent within the fashion world – to an audience of over 70 million viewers.
The latest in VV Vintage – an online sustainable fashion house founded and creatively directed by V V – will be showcased at London Fashion Weekend at Somerset House between 21st and 24th February.
Specifically dedicated to the art of recycling fabrics, reinvention and the ethos of up cycled sustainability, VV Vintage is not only stocked online and through ASOS, but has also teamed with Oxfam to create the ‘Design With Oxfam’ scheme (DWO). DWO collaborates with designers that can perpetuate the ideas of sustainability, whilst providing a platform of exposure to produce and celebrate their design, with charitable initiatives. The DWO platform is rejuvenated continuously with new DWO designers, creating bespoke Collections for VV Vintage. At present there are 7 DWO designers, including Mary Benson whose collections to date have been previewed in Vogue and sported by the likes of Rihanna, Rita Ora, Jessie J and Shingai Shoniwa.
Hosted by the British Fashion Council, VV Vintage at London Fashion Weekend at Somerset House will provide a rare opportunity to purchase exclusive one-off vintage items and pieces from each of the 7 designers working across the DWO collection, in addition to clothing and accessories from the wider VV Vintage range.
In celebration of V V’s role as CEO of VV Vintage and her work with Oxfam on the DWO scheme, V V Brown was the ethical face of the Clothes Show Live in December 2012, where she gave talks on her belief on ethical fashion and sustainability, and has recently been announced as one of the panellists for The Observer Ethical Awards 2013.
