Chinese designer and Shanghai Fashion Week headliner, Ji Cheng has appointed Forward PR to manage its ongoing UK press relations. Firmly established within the Asian fashion market, Ji Cheng is a womenswear label known for its modern take on Chinese luxury. Armed with 16 stockists, three own-label boutiques, and a celebrity following, Ji Cheng is now looking to expand its ongoing press operations within London. The label’s mainline collection casts contemporary Chinese fashion in a new light, expertly blending Eastern influences with Western tailoring. Perpetually inspired by her culture, the designer turned to a 1930’s ballroom – the largest and grandest in Shanghai – for autumn/winter 2015. It is from this historic building that the collection takes its namesake, PARAMOUNT. Exotic feathers, sequins and tassels on eveningwear evoke the glamour of the era, while heavy rope stitching, dragon motifs and mandarin collars on emperor robes, capelets and dress jackets take the collection neatly back into the realm of Ji Cheng. Other standout pieces include a fringed black leather biker jacket and matching skirt set and a black backless flapper dress. A diffusion range, ZH by Ji Cheng compliments the offering with a range of luxury t-shirts, sweatshirts and skirts. Ji Cheng will be collaborating with Toyota Hybrid and Taylor Swift in August of 2015.
