Graduate Fashion Week announces Mark Newton-Jones as Chairman
Mark Newton-Jones, CEO of Mothercare Plc, has been appointed to Chairman of Graduate Fashion Week. He succeeds Rob Templeman who after three years as Chairman announced earlier this year his decision to step down from the board. Mark arrives at Graduate Fashion Week (GFW) with a wealth of experience gained during a career spanning more than 30 years in global fashion retail. Prior to joining Mothercare in 2014 Mark was Group CEO at Shop Direct, one of the largest online fashion retailers in the UK. Previously Mark spent 18 years at Next Plc, where he held a variety of senior roles, including in his last five years, the Director responsible for the Next Directory. Mark’s new role as Chairman of Graduate Fashion Week will see him lead and develop the profile of the charitable event, raising awareness across the fashion industry and the general public. Mark will also look to further develop the format of the event, building on the huge success of GFW’s revamp in 2014 including its move to East London.
