British footwear designer Kat Maconie has revealed her new spring/summer 2015 collection. The collection takes inspiration from the simplistic lines of the minimalist movement while incorporating colour ways and details reminiscent of the late 60s and early 70s. Eye-catching coral oranges, candy pinks and tomato reds combined with metallics, oversized plastic chains, zip pulls and the signature Kat Maconie gold hardwear all feature across the range. The collection features tassels, woven details and foamy textured uppers as well as an extensive use of suede. While designing the spring/summer 2015 range, Kat was heavily influenced by Donald Judd’s distinctive minimalist designs, evidence of which can be seen in the new heel shapes debuted in this collection. Kat Maconie’s sports luxe neon creations are available for bespoke order now. Kat Maconie has recently partnered with Phoenicia International Trading for a large-scale expansion into China. This new partnership will see the brand introduce three retail stores in Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu with further stores opening across China in 2015.
