Today marks the launch of the inaugural Buy British Day. Taking place on October 3, the initiative is designed to encourage consumers to support brands and businesses that design and manufacture their products in Britain and supported by The Rt Hon Michael Fallon MP, Minister of State for Business and Enterprise. The Buy British Day initiative is the brainchild of the team behind Best of Britannia, who, along with leading British design entrepreneur and non-executive director of Best of Britannia Wayne Hemingway MBE, champion British brands at their annual event, taking place at The Farmiloe Building in Clerkenwell on October 2-4. Buy British Day will launch with an official breakfast reception at the House of Commons later today – see Fashion Insight Events.
