Oxford Street celebrates London Fashion Week
This September, Oxford Street is hosting the most influential fashion campaign of its 150 year history. To mark year one Oxford Street will be joining forces with the British Fashion Council for a milestone partnership. In celebration London Fashion Week shoppers for the first time will be given an insider glimpse into the fashion industry. For 17 days only over 15 of the most internationally recognisable fashion flagships on Oxford Street will host a spectacular array of high octane fashion moments. Fashion emporiums from Selfridges, Topshop and River Island to John Lewis, House of Fraser, H&M and Gap will provide shoppers with a range of exclusive experiences and insider insights into the world of national and international fashion. To herald the launch of this Fashion Showcase Oxford Street have collaborated with five London Fashion Week designers to dress the Street with 75 fashion flags, each illustrating the very best of the British fashion industry. The flags, 12 foot in height, will sail high above the fashion flagships and will be seen by an excess of 12 million shoppers from more than 200 countries for the 17 day period, which includes one of the biggest fixtures in the fashion calendar – London Fashion Week. Fashion and retail brands on Oxford Street will provide shoppers with exclusive access into the world of fashion with A list fashion forums, guest star interviews, top-level makeovers, blogging workshops, celebrity pop up DJs, in-store styling sessions and fashion career mentoring. Shoppers from across the globe will be able to get their fashion fix 24/7 with the launch of Oxford Street TV and rebrand website with a newly formed centralised social media hub of real time store updates and activity.
