Lifestyle brand Vanderhurd and interior designer Adam Bray have announced the launch of ‘Waver’. New for Autumn/Winter ‘18, the subtle yet striking rug collection features a single design realised in six sophisticated colours. The collection emerged as a result of a shared desire to offer an informal but smart rug in a contemporary context. Initially as a one off, the design was created using a vibrant pillarbox red, this sparked the desire to create a full collection. Featuring a coloured border framing a natural field of wool or hemp, the collaboration includes five Mondrian flat weaves and one dhurrie. The mondrian construction was chosen as this heavy weaving technique produces richly saturated tones that create a striking contrast with the rug’s neutral base. As a whole the palette features a mixture of bright shades coupled with natural colours, giving the ‘Waver’ flat weaves an unusual versatility.
